From the moment you wake up you start the cycle of preparation. Preparing to get out of bed, preparing for work, preparing breakfast etc. God has been speaking to me on preparation over the past couple of months and that's the exact season I have been in. Preparing for transition, preparing this website, preparing for the future, preparing for whatever else it is God has to come. In the midst of the season of preparation my eyes have been opened to a new level of preparation preparing for the return of my husband. I personally had been slacking in that area and he has stirred up a new hunger in me, a hunger that I want to be able to share with my sisters and brothers so they are prepared too.
So let's start preparing for our Husband's return.
- Do you know him? -- He is your husband on his way to come back for YOU his bride. Have you taken the time to get to know your groom? Do you know his character? Do you know what pleases him/ what hurts him/ what makes him angry?
- Do you spend time with him? -- Do you set aside time to hear from him? Do you set aside time to get to know him? Can you hear his voice when he speaks to you? Do you speak back in return? Do you listen?
- Receive his love! -- Rejecting his voice, direction, wisdom, and love happens so often without recognition. Be intentional about receiving his love. Don't just assume that you have all of your barriers down. Ask him to prepare your heart to receive everything he has for you.
- Read your word -- Reading your bible is the easiest way to hear his voice. The bible is filled with love letters from your groom. If you were getting married to someone here on earth and they wrote a book just for you in preparation for your wedding day would you hesitate to read it?
Look at God in the same way you would a fiance' here on earth. We fall in love with another human and are willing to spend endless hours talking getting to know the other person, hundreds on dates, thousands on a wedding that has an expiration date. We have a HUSBAND returning for us! It's time to prepare.
12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”[f]
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,[g] that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But[h] outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
18 For[i] I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add[j] to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away[k] his part from the Book[l] of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.[m] Amen.
