Fatima Gomez is "TimaGstyle".

I have a love for young women my age who bring forth the word of God in "non-traditional" ways such as: fashion, poetry, YouTube, blogs, etc. When on social media I tend to gravitate towards those women because as well as having amazing words of wisdom when I need it, I also find great inspiration whether it be through their fashion choices or how they navigate through their daily activities in life.

I came across Fatima Gomez last year on Instagram and when I say this girl inspires me! She's a recent bible college grad, working, has an amazing blog, and does YouTube videos among many other things.

Y'all know I had to feature her on the website ;)

My name is Fatima Gomez, but I am known as Tima G. I was born in Mexico in 1992. I was mostly raised by mother, and due to this, I never really knew my dad intimately. My father would travel back and forth to the US to provide for our family. As I became a third grader, my family began to prepare to move permanently to the US. Right before the fourth grade, we packed what we knew and began a journey in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have resided here ever since.
When we moved, I had the least clue on what to expect. I spoke no English, knew no one but three cousins who I unfortunately never saw in school, and lived a pretty lonesome childhood (in which was rare because I loved being around my friends back in Mexico). Once I became adjusted to the people and teachers, it was time to move to another school for the fifth grade. Then I had to adjust for the sixth grade. Since, I never knew consistent loving relationships. Middle school was also rough because that is when puberty hit, and I had no one to confide in. I dealt with loneliness, fear, and insecurities alone and eventually needed an outlet. I began to find myself interested in boys and since then, a cycle of brokenness began. During this time, I also had a good friend who invited me to her youth group and I attended for the wrong reasons. Regardless, God used her to plant seeds in my heart that would grow much later.

When high school came, I decided to continue dating guys online via chat rooms/myspace, or in school. During this time, I also began to have an interest in fashion. Eventually, my junior year came and I had intercourse with one of my boyfriends out of fear he would break up with me. Three weeks later, he did. Heartbroken, lost, and at one of the lowest points of my life, I received a message on myspace from one of my now best friends/brother to come to his young adult group. I did and ever since, my life began to turn. I dedicated my life to Christ in 2009 and began a slowly-transforming journey. While I was in college, I was very lukewarm because I had no accountability. My church began a leadership internship in 2012 and ever since, my walk with Christ has taken another level of intimacy and freedom. I have truly changed my ways to only depend on Jesus and His word for my everyday-living.
Now, I am a merchandising and bible school graduate that plans to share the love and gospel of Jesus in unconventional ways in a highly secular world.

What inspired you to start TimaGStyle.Com?

I have always loved the idea of having a website. From myspace days, I loved customizing web pages. I began to blog in college inconsistently, but in 2013 I decided to be consistent. At first, the idea of sharing photos and information was more for a self-fulfilling motive, but now I do it to share the lifestyle Jesus has allowed me to live.

What is the mission/purpose behind TimaGStyle.com?

The mission of timagstyle.com is to inspire living life without limits mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The purpose of my lifestyle blog is to share my journey with Christ by incorporating fashion and the word of God together, along with other facets of my life.

How has your website changed your life?

Practically, it has challenged me to become a better communicator, a faithful steward, and a growing influencer in my generation. On a more personal note, I have learned to be vulnerable with my followers without feeling like I have no private life.

How does it impact the life of others?

From the comments I do get to hear about, I know people are touched in ways I did not even imagine myself doing. Many girls that read it tell me they are inspired, they are encouraged, and that they want to see me continue blogging.
Where do you hope to see TimaGStyle.com in 5 years?

I am hoping to turn my website into a career that I love to work for. And of course, doing collaborations, having merchandise, and highlighting young adults that are living a life modeled after Jesus while still being dope at the same time.

What is one thing you would love to see happen within the Christian community?

I just read a book that altered my perspective of the gap between the church and the secular world. I would love and am praying that people in multiple industries, like the government, entertainment, fashion, medical, business, would rise as anointed and wise believers to make a difference spiritually and produce societal results.

What advice would you give to other sisters in Christ trying to figure out their purpose?

Seek God. As simple as that sounds, it is difficult because it involves sacrifice but it is so worth it. In order for a macbook to know it’s full capacity of life, you have to speak to the creators of it, right? Same for us, in order for us to find out what we were truly made for, we have to seek and find out from our Creator.
From experience, I have learned to pursue God at all costs, literally and figuratively speaking. To know the true you, you have to die to the old you; so let go of the past and embrace the beautiful life Jesus has offered.

What keeps you pressing forward with TimaGStyle.com?

To me, my blog is a mini-platform to share who I am and Who God is. I continue to share because I am tired of the overly-saturated secular media. I value God’s word, living a pure life, and being honest, but at the same time I love fashion, beauty, and photography. So instead of complaining about the media world, I began my own journey by combining both of my passions.

What can readers expect to see when they explore TimaGStyle.com?

Outfits of the day, devotionals/encouraging words, and my life experiences.

And now let's getting to know a little bit more about who Fatima is:

If you could go back and tell your 15 year old self anything what would it be?
Stay away from the boys. Be friends with them but do not believe their “love” comments. You do not know what true love is yet and they do not either. Wait it out. God is going to reveal Himself to you and your life is going to change for the better!

What are you looking most forward to this year? Any big goals?
To truly step out in purpose, like teaching the Word, and establishing my brand. One of my biggest goals is to move out of Oklahoma, so hopefully this happens! :D

Mauree Sullivan is "ByMauree.com"

Chicago based/Detroit-bred/Fashion Student/Jesus Lover/Flower Enthusiast/Collector of beautiful people and things (via ByMauree.com)

Hola Beauties, I know it's been awhile since I posted an interview and I am so excited to be back in the swing of things. Not only because I have a passion for learning about people and hearing their stories. But I also know it is very important to see and know that other Sisters In Christ are out here doing great things.

With that being said I was able to connect with a beauty named Mauree Sullivan. I first came across her page via Instagram a few months back and was immediately drawn in by the beautiful photography and her love for Christ. After exploring her Instagram page a bit further I seen that she also had her own website (bymauree.com). When I tell y'all the moment I clicked on her website I fell in love. Not only with the layout but her transparency was evident within the first few sentences. Everybody calls themselves an open book but few are really willing to be so. I knew I had to get to inside scoop on Mauree and share it with you all. She has a voice and creativity that needs to be heard/seen. ;)

What inspired you to start ByMauree.com?

Making the move to Chicago was a huge deal for me, especially after transferring from a small Christian university in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ByMaureé ended up being a way for me to journal my story on moving to a large city and trusting God every step of the way

What is the mission/purpose behind ByMauree.com?

Since ByMaureé started in 2014, I have re-branded the site twice. At the beginning, I wanted to create a fashion blog, but now my focus has shifted towards creating a platform for other people as well. I still do the occasional fashion posts, but my favorite new edition to the site is Letters to Sisters, where I get to showcase the beauty and talents of women who are a part of my life.

How has your website changed your life?

Wow, I have actually never thought of how the blog has changed my life. That’s an awesome question. Without a doubt, it has changed my life for the better. It’s rewarding to know that I have successfully created a platform that mirrors the passions of my heart. It has also helped me to become a more consistent person as well.

How does it impact the life of others?

I have been blown away by the impact that the blog has had on other people. I cherish every letter, email and kind word that is spoken about the blog. It’s incredible knowing that the points that I’m making our successfully being translated to the readers.
Where do you hope to see ByMauree.com in 5 years?

One thing that I love about curating my own platform is that it grows as I grow. The furthered expansion of ByMaureé will always reflect who I am, what I am experiencing and what God is speaking to me in that season. I’ve become very carefree with the development of the blog and never want it to feel stuffy or too forced. In five years, I pray that it stays that way and that the readers feel connected to the progression of the mission.

What is one thing you would love to see happen within the Christian community?

I’d love to see more people of God fully excelling in the area of arts and entertainment. I believe that the industry has remained un-penetrated by the Christian community for too long and there’s coming a shift where the people of God take their rightful places of influence there.

What advice would you give to other sisters in Christ trying to figure out their purpose?

Follow peace, not comfort. Fear is a hindrance that keeps us from going hard after our dreams. I believe that some women know what we want to, but were afraid to step out and do it.

For those women who have yet to found out what they are called to do,
Start seeking God about purpose. God will shed light on your gifts and talents once you get in position and focus all of your attention on Him.

What keeps you pressing forward with ByMauree.com?

Passion to see my readers grow and develop in their God given calling keeps me going. My heart is wildly fulfilled by seeing other people tap into destiny. I find it profoundly humbling to know that my platform has encouraged others to identify those dreams and pursue them

What can readers expect to see when they explore ByMauree.com?

The blog is a great representation of some of the work that I do currently. The project that I’m most excited about right now is "Letters to Sisters". Letters to Sisters is a newer edition to the blog where I feature different women within the arts and entertainment industry and give them a platform to tell their testimonies and encourage other women to believe that it is possible to love God with all of their hearts and still be effective in the creative arts. I also touch on the subjects of fashion, faith and other personal projects

And now let's getting to know a little bit more about who Mauree is.

Born and raised?
I am originally from Detroit, Michigan

Favorite genre of music/artist?

I don’t have a favorite genre of music, but my most listened to genre would be gospel, specifically from the late 90’s. My favorite artists right now are David & Nicole Binion.

Favorite food?

Favorite flavor of ice cream?

Because of my enormous love for ice cream I just simply can’t pick one! My favorites are lavender from Jeni’s and sweet cream from Coldstone.

Favorite place to travel?

Haven’t been yet, but I’m longing to travel through South Africa and Japan sometime soon.

Favorite book?

Can You Stand To Be Blessed? by TD Jakes

Your favorite verse?

James 1:2-4 :” Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Fashion inspirations?

Shut your phone off every once in awhile. Social media is cool, but don’t make it your ultimate source of inspiration. What makes people stand out is their unique perspectives. Try exploring nature, people watching and assessing your own personal likes and dislikes. Yeah, the Internet may say what’s hot or not, but who cares. You have to decide for yourself what you like. I have been way more inspired when my phone is off than when it is on.

Others blogs you follow/recommend?

TheTinyCloset.com – I’ve been following her for years and love her overall aesthetic of minimalistic comfort.
ProfreshStyle.com – One of the first people who made me want to start my blog. I loved that it wasn’t just fashion related and she also shared her personal journey with her readers.
BambisArmoire.com – Her style is #GOALS.

If you could go back and tell your 15 year old self anything what would it be?

When I was fifteen my parents were in the middle of going through their divorce and it was by far one of the most challenging times for me growing up.

I would say, “Maureé, although your heart is broken, God didn’t do it. Don’t try and shut Him out from your life. Stop trying to fill that void with temporary pleasures and FOCUS. You’re going to make it. “

What are you looking most forward to this year? Any big goals?

This year I am graduating from college and am super excited about the upcoming transition. After school ends, I am planning on moving to Los Angeles to work with a couple of ministries and establish my career there.

Janelle Alexandra is FEARFULLY FASHIONED

Janelle Brown is the life and style coach behind the blog Fearfully Fashioned.  Growing up battling negative self-esteem and body image issues, Janelle is passionate about restoring beauty, purpose, and worth in all women. Fearfully Fashioned was created to not only encourage and equip women with the tools necessary to pursue their purpose, but also to highlight areas in the fashion and beauty industry where true beauty and diversity are void. Through life, style, and consumer/brand coaching, Janelle cheers you on to embrace and discover your purpose and inner beauty. Just think of her as your Purpose Cheerleader.

I was able to ask Janelle a few questions about Fearfully Fashioned and getting to know her vision better:

1. What inspired you to start Fearfully Fashioned?

A: Fearfully Fashioned was originally started in response to the lack of diversity in the fashion and beauty industry. We are constantly being primed with images of ideal beauty while still failing to realize what true beauty really is. Since then Fearfully Fashioned has evolved into a life, style, and consumer relationship coaching business. I don’t only want women to know their purpose and beauty, I want businesses to know that about them as well.

2 What is the mission of Fearfully Fashioned?

A:  Fearfully Fashioned is an online destination that helps all women find their purpose and worth. Through life and style coaching, Fearfully Fashioned encourages and equips women with style, confidence, and the tools necessary to pursue their purpose. Fearfully Fashioned celebrates all women of different sizes, shapes, colors, and backgrounds. Whether it’s through e-books, e-courses, webinars, and workshops. Fearfully Fashioned is your resting place to be restored with purpose beauty and worth.

   3. How has Fearfully Fashioned changed your life?

A: Because of Fearfully Fashioned I am constantly being stretched out of my comfort zone. I am learning now more than ever that I have to learn the lesson that I am purposed to teach. I love Fearfully Fashioned because it has been almost a means for me to reciprocate my growth. When I learn something new, I plant the seed, it grows and I reap the harvest as it nurtures me back. Through my business, God has extracted the negative thoughts that were preventing me from moving forward. If anything the change is a continuos enlightening and enriching process.

      4. How does it impact the life of others?

A: God has shown me that the message that he placed inside of me brings life and restoration to the purposeless and hopeless. So many people don’t know their identity and because of that they try to find their purpose and worth in the people and things that will never cherish or understand their value. Fearfully Fashioned is there to remind every woman that she is beautiful and more than capable to have the life that she desires, because that is what God desires for her as well. It is possible to learn how to love yourself and create healthy attainable goals to achieve your purpose and destiny.

     5. Where do you hope to see Fearfully Fashioned in 5 years?

A: I would love for Fearfully Fashioned to expand into a coaching and branding firm where I have trained coaches who are under my mission. At that point I would love to be working with major fashion and beauty brands on incorporating more multi-cultural images in marketing and advertising. The more that we can populate these diverse images, the more women will feel confident and a sense of belonging.

     6. What is one thing you would hope to see happen in the christian community?

A: I would love to see people start being more transparent and less judgmental. There are so many people out there trying to portray perfection. I can’t stand it when people try to push their convictions and opinions on others. Stop trying to persuade and change others with your opinions. Let the Holy Spirit persuade and convict. He always sees the heart.

     7. What advice would you give to other Sisters in Christ struggling to find their purpose?

A: Prayer and fasting is key! Ask God to help you become aware of your calling. Your talents and personality traits are integral in your calling. You may have talents but God pours out his blessing into those talents to create gifts. By using those gifts you will be fulfilling the purpose that he has for you. God will shine his light on how you can leverage them to walk in His calling for your life.

     8. What keeps you pressing forward with Fearfully Fashioned?

A: I always look at my “why.” In addition to developing my business, I am a grad student and I work full time, therefore I am very intentional with my time. A business/organization is not about you. You are here to solve a problem. That problem always keeps my mind turning with ways that I can provide a solution. The fact that my business is needed is what keeps me going.

     9. What is your favorite verse at the moment?

A: I have a couple of go to verses but lately Habakkuk 2:3 really soothes and encourages my spirit. “This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed."
